System Z can map a single file definition to a transitory file specification. This is useful for data that needs to be stored in a date specific file (for example, logging data). System Z can have numerous files that are written to by the same file definition. Easysoft Data Access for System Z can't decipher which file should be accessed when these kinds of file specifications are loaded from the DD.dat
file. Within the Zortec data dictionary, these files are denoted with a "?" character and because of this, the Easysoft driver does not know which file to load.
