Product description
The Easysoft RMS ODBC driver lets ODBC-enabled Windows applications such as Microsoft Access and Microsoft Excel access RMS data on OpenVMS servers.
To access RMS data, ODBC function calls are passed from a Windows ODBC driver to data access software installed on the OpenVMS server. The following diagram illustrates the product's multi-tier architecture.
The Easysoft RMS ODBC driver:
- Requires no change to existing file systems or applications.
- Provides a GUI-based management utility that makes it easy to configure users and data dictionaries.
- Lets you control user access to the RMS data. For example, you can define which users have
SELECT,UPDATE,INSERT, andDELETEprivileges. - Automatically creates metadata from COBOL, PowerHouse, or CSV files.
