Why cannot I install Easysoft XML-ODBC on Windows?

If you get a popup dialogue saying something like:

"This installation package cannot be installed by the Windows
Installer Service. You must install a Windows service pack that
contains a newer version of the Windows Installer"

then you must get a newer version of the Windows Installer. There is a
Microsoft redistributable for the Windows Installer on our FTP site in
the xml-odbc directory called InstMsiW.exe. Alternatively get the
latest Windows Installer from Microsoft's web site.
