Why has my Java application stopped working since I upgraded JOB?

Article : 00642

When upgrading between versions of JOB you are recommended to keep the client and server components of the product at the same build version, as problems can be caused when EJOB.jar (client driver) is not upgraded along with the server.

One error to watch out for is the following:

getConnection failed: java.sql.SQLException: Connection failed JOB exception: null

If this error is in evidence after an upgrade, make sure the latest EJOB.jar is added into your class path.

On Windows platforms, the EJOB.jar file is located in:

C:\Program Files\Easysoft\JDBC-ODBC Bridge\jars

On Unix platforms, the EJOB.jar file is located in:

/usr/local/easysoft/job/jars
